DOWN IN FLAMES | THE
WHOLE WORLD’S GONE CRAZY | RED
DIRT TOWN |
AFTER ALL THIS TIME
DOWN IN FLAMES
Being on the run, there’s one thing I’ve found
you don’t miss the sun, till the sun goes down
to get to heaven, I’ll go through hell
yeah I’ve learned my lessons, and I’ve learned
them well
If I’m going down, I’m going down in flames
from this moment on, aint nothin gonna be the same
one thing’s for certain, everybody’s gonna know
my name
if I’m going down, I’m going down in flames
To climb a mountain, you’ve got to risk the fall
to make a difference, you’ve got to risk it all
just like an eagle, spread you wings and fly
aint afraid to loose, aint afraid to die
If I’m going down, I’m going down in flames
from this moment on, aint nothin gonna be the same
one thing’s for certain, everybody’s gonna know
my name
if I’m going down, I’m going down in flames
If I’m going down, yeah I’m going down in flames
from this moment on, aint nothin gonna be the same
if you’ve got the fire, I’ve got the gasoline
cause if I’m going down, I’m going down in flames
if I’m going down, I’m going down in flames

THE WHOLE WORLD’S GONE CRAZY
I’ve got a computer, fits the palm of my hand
somehow the satellites know just where I am
I must be paranoid or crazy I guess
to tell you the truth it scares me to death
I don’t leave the ground cause I’m too scared
to fly
I don’t check the mail cause I don’t wanna die
I’m sinkin fast and I don’t mean maybe
Lord help us please, the whole world’s gone crazy
the whole world’s gone crazy
I wake up in the morning, turn on the TV
I got’s to get my daily dose of misery
ignore my family before I head off to work
I hate my job cause my boss is a jerk
there’s a man on the corner and he’s carrying
a sign
he’s there everyday so I don’t pay him no mind
he’s got a wife and a new born baby
Lord help us please, the whole world’s gone crazy
the whole world’s gone crazy
There’s preacher on TV on a set made of gold
he said send some money and he’ll pray for my soul
if I send enough then God might save me
Lord help us please, the whole world’s gone crazy
the whole world’s gone crazy

RED DIRT TOWN
I grew up poor on an old dirt lot, half a mile from the
nearest black top
my daddy got it cheap use to be a land fill, he helped to
buy it on the G.I. Bill
life was slow on the reservation, there on the edge of the
Sac and Fox Nation
watchin the cars go by as the sun went down, and I dreamed
about a life far away from this red dirt town
I remember the day I turned eighteen, I hitched a ride
to the Dairy Queen
it was right across the street from the old bus stop, mama
begged me not to leave but I could not stop
ticket in hand and ready for adventure, felt like a slave
released from indenture
I’d come this far, too far to turn back now
and I got away as fast as I could from this red dirt town
(Chorus)
Gets in your blood, gets on your boots
it’s hard to shake the dirt from your roots
you can tell by the way I look and the way I sound
I come from a red dirt town
I was headed for the promise land, the big city’s
where I’d make my stand
by the time I reached the coast I was gatherin dust, after
three long days on a Grey Hound bus
But, the grass didn’t seem as green, as it did on
the movie screen
those streets of gold were boarded up and run down, and
I missed my life back home in that red dirt town
(Chorus)
Wasn’t long till I was down and out, guess Mama knew
what she was talkin about
when she said there’s nothin worse than bein alone,
seventeen hundred miles away from home
When I couldn’t last another day, I made the hardest
call I ever had to make
Mama picked up the phone, and that’s when I just broke
down
and she said son you can always come home to this red dirt
town
(Chorus)

AFTER ALL THIS TIME
After all this time, I’m still haunted by your memory
usually I’m fine, but sometimes it gets the best of
me
I run into a friend, they ask me where you’ve been
I just hear your name, and I still feel the pain
after all this time
Everywhere I go, I’m seeing things that keep reminding
me
like an old country road, one of the places where we use
to meet
I knew the day I met you, it’d be hard to forget you
now those days are gone, but I’m still holdin on
after all this time
Right around the block, that’s where we first made
love
you swore we’d never stop, said we fit just like a
glove
on the day you left, I called out your name
tried hard to forget you, but I still feel the same
after all this time
After all this time.......
